Born in South Korea, Joey Kim immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 8 without knowing a word of English. Since then, he has pursued his American Dream with a chip on his shoulder.
He has been an entrepreneur, an investor, and a fund manager. He was previously a partner at Romulus Capital and is currently the general partner at Takeoff Capital, a fund investing in construction and essential services. He also incubated a B2B data visualization tool in the 401K space as the Chief Product Officer at the Harvard Innovation Lab.
Hylift Partners is his own personal investment fund for more opportunistic assets.
Joey previously worked at McKinsey & Company. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
